Progress, Raleigh partner on solar project Morrisville-based Southern Energy, NxGen Power in Charlotte will build facility on city property at wastewater treatment plant. At 1.3 megawatts, plant would power approximately 1,000 homes.

Progress Energy to buy power from solar farm near Roxboro

 Progress Energy Carolinas is teaming up with Durham-based Carolina Solar Energy to build a 500-kilowatt solar power facility in Person County.
