Morrisville, N.C. — Telecommunications gear-maker Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC) has won a third contract with T-Mobile UK.
The latest deal calls for Tekelec to upgrade the wireless service provider’s network to one that is Internet Protocol-based.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tekelec gear is already used in T-Mobile operations in Germany and the Netherlands.
“Tekelec addressed our requirements efficiently and cost-effectively while at the same time ensuring our network is future-proof,” David James, head of network planning and development at T-Mobile UK, said in a statement issued by Tekelec. “We have selected Tekelec for their superior solution, their strong local presence, and their successful implementation of this technology with other mobile operators in the UK and abroad.”
