Indiana Network Picks Tekelec

Indiana Fiber Networks will deploy a signaling application system from Tekelec, the telecommunications hardware and software developer said Tuesday.

Indiana Fiber will use an Eagle 5 platform from Tekelec for call control and network security as well as other applications at the core of its network. Indiana Fiber services 19 customers, including a consortium of independent telephone service providers.

"After considering several signaling providers, we found none that could beat Tekelec's EAGLE platform in delivering an economical, reliable and secure SS7 signaling solution to help our operator customers provide advanced services to their subscribers," said Kelly Dyer, president of the network. "Tekelec also supports our migration to a next-generation architecture without additional network facility costs."
