NCTA picks Taylorsville school for technology project

Raleigh, N.C. — Taylorsville Elementary School in Taylorsville will be the school technology project for the current school year through a program sponsored by the North Carolina Technology Association.

The school will receive $95,350 in funding through the U.S. Department of Education.

Each year NCTA picks a school to receive a variety of technology support as part of the trade group’s efforts to improve education in North Carolina. The program targets low-wealth schools in rural parts of the state.

NCTA launched the program with the help of the state’s Congressional education in 2002.

Efland Cheeks Elementary School, Orange County, Oak Lane Elementary School, Person County, Riverbend Elementary School, Haywood County, Aberdeen Elementary School, Moore County, Liberty Elementary School in Randolph County, McGees Crossroads Elementary School, Johnston County; and Southside/Ashpole Elementary School, Robeson County were the previous selections/
