WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Interact911 and its subsidiary, Interact Public Safety Systems, plan to expand global marketing and sales efforts and develop new products following its closing on $28 million in financing.
Triad-based SilkRoad Equity, a previous investor, participated in the new round.
New investors include Foundation Capital and Bay Partners.
Interact provides public safety and homeland security solutions, including advanced 911 phone systems, computer-aided dispatch, mobile data systems and digital video surveillance.
As part of the deal, Warren Weiss of Foundation Capital and Eric Chin of Bay Partners will join the InterAct board.
“Safety and security technology, both public and commercial, remains the highest procurement requirement worldwide,” said Ted Collins, InterAct’s chief executive officer. “Keeping pace with evolving standards, including video, text messaging, and VoIP is essential to effectively respond to any threat. This investment enables us to serve a far broader audience worldwide.”
SilkRoad Equity is led by Andrew “Flip” Filipowski and Matthew Roszak.
