Durham-based SJF Ventures invests $1.6M in clean tech firm
{{a href="external_link-1224131"}}SJF Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Durham and New York, is investing $1.6 million in CleanScapes, a clean technology firm based on the West Coast.
The SJF investment is part of a $10 million Series A round. CleanScapes, which has offices in Washington, California and Oregon, is a 10-year-old firm focused on municipal collection services.
“SJF seeks out forward-looking ventures that bring clean tech innovations to inefficient, mainstream industries and CleanScapes fits the bill,” said Cody Apperson, an SJF Ventures Associate. “The company’s strong environmental, civic, and workforce strategies helped it win new major contracts and bring a breath of fresh air to the waste management industry.”
SJF has $45 million under investment.
