Hosted Solutions to open office in suburban Washington, D.C.
Hosted Solutions, a provider of data center and managed services, is opening an office suburban Washington, D.C.
Hosted operates five data centers - two in the Research Triangle area, two in Charlotte and one in suburban Boston, Mass.
Phillip Jewell, a 10-year tech industry veteran, will lead Hosted’s office, which will be located in Ashburn, Va. Jewell worked seven years for Internet Services Provider UUNET, which later was purchased by Verizon.
“We continue to see very strong demand for our managed and dedicated hosting offerings in the D.C. market,” said Chris Turco, Hosted’s chief operating officer. “We added several new customers in that region recently and we expect to see business continue to grow. One of the primary drives for our business in DC is our disaster recovery and replication offerings. Companies in the DC market need to back up their data outside the region for business continuity purposes. Our Raleigh data center is a perfect location for that – far enough to meet the DR needs, but very easy to access quickly – just a short plane ride away.”
