Wake Tech to host annual Digital Game Expo
Wake Tech will host its third annual Digital Game Expo on June 20-21 at its main campus south of Raleigh.
The event includes a jobs fair, with game development companies and related services providers scouting for new talent.
The latest in gaming technology also will be on display.
Wake Tech offers educational programs for game developers and maintains a cutting-edge game lab. More than 200 students are currently enrolled in Tech’s gaming program, which was launched in 2006.
On Friday, students will showcase their talents and creations beginning at 11 a.m. The job fair beings at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, events include a variety of tournaments and a panel discussion about massively multiplayer online games.
Guest speakers include Brenda Brathwaite, who teaches at the Savannah College of Art & Design and has been involved in designing more than 20 video games, and Steve Reid, studio manager at Red Storm Entertainment.
