Companion Technologies Acquires Georgia-Based SDS

COLUMBIA, S.C. —
Companion Technologies, a provider of healthcare information technology, is acquiring Smart Document Solutions, a healthcare information management firm.
SDS is based in Alpharetta, Ga.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Companion and SDS plan to offer physician practice management solutions, electronic medical records and revenue cycle management solutions.
The combined firm would have more than 1,200 hospitals and 27,000 physicians as clients and more than $165 million in revenues.
