Durham human cell technology firm raises $7 million in debt

DURHAM, N.C. - Humacyte, a startup focused on development of replacement tissues made from human cells, has raised $7 million in debt financing.

The funding was disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Humacyte launched in 2004.

To date, the company has conducted pre-clinical studies for a variety of injectable and other products.

Humacyte utilizes patented cell-based production process.
