RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Former U.S. Senator Tom Daschle has been added to the lineup of speakers for Biotech 2007, the annual biotechnology conference put on by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development.
The event is set for May 14-15 at the Marriott at the Civic Center in Durham.
The North Carolina Biotechnology Center and the North Carolina Biosciences Organization also help put on the event.
Daschle, a Democrat from South Dakota and a former Senate majority leader, is now a special policy advisor for the law firm Alston & Bird in its Washington, D.C. office.
"Senator Daschle has a long and supportive history with the biotech community,” said CED President Monica Doss. “We are honored to have him share his thoughts at Biotech 2007 on the political climate for life sciences in the United States.”
